If anyone has finished reading it and wants to talk about it, please email me!!! I finished it in 7 hours to the absolute neglect of my family. I liked it. But that's all I'm saying, because I don't want to spoil it for anyone.
Last book I nearly drove Nell insane, because I so badly needed to discuss it with someone and she absolutely would not let me hurry her. Don't think I didn't try. I'd ring her and say have you finished? and she'd tell me to shut up and leave her alone. So then I'd ask her where she was up to, so I could discuss up to that point. I believe I pestered my sister the same way.
So you know, I'm here. Needing to talk about it.

LOL. You poor thing!
ReplyDeleteWell, I could discuss the last chapter and a half, which I read when my son brought the book home this afternoon... Yes, I'm that kind of wicked person who reads the end first. But since I've read only the first one and a half of the books, my discussion might not be very informed... I just wanted to know whether Harry survived, and of course the answer is...

Well, I have bought my copy, but am not ready to read it yet. I am pondering on whether to re-read the last book to catch up where it left off.
ReplyDeleteI am questioning my devotion. I have all the books, I have all the movies, and I love them. But even I am wondering why I haven't started avidly reading.
I have my copy, not because I lined up or anything, but because MDH and I went shopping yesterday and I saw them in Target (unsurrounded by 3pm) and thought, "oh, I had better buy this in case I can't get one later".
Sorry Stomper, I feel I will be somewhat of a disappointment to you in these confessions.
Done in 7 hours? You are one fast reader. My only comment so far, I only managed 240 pgs last night before I fell asleep (sooo tired), is that it needed a SEVERE edit. This morning I have to do the Reading at church, so I'm planning major couch time this afternoon. Probably be finished by tomorrow, if you can wait that long.
ReplyDeleteEmail Sussanah, she's finished. My daughter started at 9:30 and was finished by 2 and was on her second reading last night.
ReplyDeleteGourged yesterday and am now in book regret. Started at 1030, had to go to stupid bloody soccer and then bloody kids whined all day with truly unreasonable requests for food and water, didn't they know that I was READING?!?
ReplyDeleteFinished a at 5 and rang my niece to discuss. Totally understand your need to share.
Heh. I did it in 7 hours, too. I loved most of it.
ReplyDeleteI may have to read it again.
My 18 year old stepdaughter NEVER reads dragged herself out of bed on a Saturday morning (unheard of) to get her copy. She got home, went to bed and was not seen again till this evening when she emerged after finishing it. The power of Harry, I am dead impressed.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I have cooked three sourdough loaves from your starter this weekend, it is dangerous stuff.
I wish people WOULD all read it, quickly discuss it, and then get back to entertaining me, the non-HP reader.
ReplyDeleteBlogland is sooo dead, and i'm like, on crack, and writing 3 posts a day ....
I heard the ending sucks ( because although I did not read the book, I read the spoilers ... seems a rather 5th grade attempt at an ending, no ? )
I've just finished! Many unnecessary impediments were placed in my way (husband away, friends visiting, ballet/swim classes, bl**dy committee mtg today)but I was determined to finish it before I faced all those kids in the school yard tomorrow eager to share their knowledge!
ReplyDeleteI don't have it yet... Trying to justify the purchase. I wonder if I'll manage to avoid finding out what happens...
ReplyDeleteI've managed the first page so far and the Count seemed to like
ReplyDeleteAww h*ll. I still have the buy the darn thing, and I live in the UK!!
ReplyDeletePlus the little matter of reading book number 6 first... sigh.
Finished it last night...and managed to dodge all spoiler attempts in the meantime.
ReplyDeleteFound you through Lazy Cow. Will be sending an email as I have no one to discuss it with either. All I could do was put up a lame post - didn't want to spoil the ending of it.
ReplyDeleteWell, it's pretty much confirmed (if it wasn't already apparent before the HP7 release), I'm next to useless to any of you HP7 readers as I've only just bought #7 and only read up to #2 or #3, anyway (I know, the shame of it all).
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I'll be sulking over my writing about something else; but please come and visit when you've got HP7 "out of the blood".
Read it! Loved it!
ReplyDeleteOh gawd! Does he have to be EVERYWHERE? Came over here for the usual entertaining read and what do I find??Harrypottermania....sigh.
ReplyDeleteI finished it in about seven hours too...an allnighter. I'll neglect my family today, instead.
ReplyDeleteIt was good. REALLY good. I'm still mildly blown away that there won't be another.
Not yet awhile, I'm trying to savour it, since it's the last one.
ReplyDeleteCheers
