All Aboard!

For the second time this year the Cherub has been running around our front garden without a stitch of clothing on. The reason this time was the welcome cool change. We went outside (at bath time hence the nakedness) to look at the rain and suddenly Climber said Let's run.

So we did. Running and laughing in the rain. Fixit stood. Three of his family prancing around like lunatics in full view of the street was a good enough representation as far as he was concerned. But I recommend it. I felt like I was 6 again, happy and silly and free.

Our morning was spent braving the 39 degree heat at an outdoor birthday party for a 3-year-old. The location was a Miniature Railway, which we will be going back to visit for sure! Such fun for the little train enthusiasts. And tickets only $3 per ride which apart from being nice & cheap was extraordinarily good value if you think about how much money those little rides in shopping malls sting you for and what you get in return.

We had tunnels, bridges, level crossings, bush scenery, waving at other trains, points and signals. And FUN.

When we came home I found this near Fixit's stuff:

Does this mean I should take him shopping for an anorak now, dyathink? Or maybe just a dinky little Casey Jones hat?

  1. Start with the Casey Jones hat and work up from there.

  3. Did you have clothes on whilst frolicking? If not, no wonder Fixit was concerned. Especially seeing how I saw on another blog site you talking about your batwing arms! :)

Pity about the water restrictions really, I remember some of the happiest times of my childhood being when my sisters and I ran through the sprinkler on a hot day. Naked or not, either way was fun. But we were very young when naked. :)

  5. I was clothed Aunty!!! Cherub was the only nudie. Please don't picture me with full-on batwings yet either; but yes, the arms are at the point that we could be gaining them if we don't start the ole tricep routine in the near future!

  6. I NEED a good frollick in the rain myself. And splashing in puddles. One of our favourite pastimes here is to go for a walk after a good downpour and splash about to our hearts content, then home for a nice warm bath! The neighbours think we're a bit loony too :-)

What an excellent place for a birthday party - not too expensive and FUN, FUN, FUN. My little darling would have been in 7th heaven!

  7. Love that Railway. We've driven across town several times to meet friends there, and all the husbands love going on the train.

  8. MF would absolutely love that train!

Of course, we haven't clued him in yet that those 'rides' in the stores move if you put money into them. He just thinks sitting in them is fun...

  9. Mine were the same at his age! From seeing other kids go round they now know those rides can move, but they also know there is no point asking me for money! And they still enjoy just sitting in them!

  10. Now, I *knew* about this attraction, but a reminder ( with husband-convincing pics ! ) is always a good thing ;)
