Holier than thou.

I finished my second Vineyard Dishcloth, and this one, you'll be surprised to hear, I am keeping for myself.  When I showed it, pre cast-off, to the 2 perfectionists/anal retentives in my life (Fixit and Nell) they both, with touching faith in my abilities, expressed concern about all the holes in it.

  1. Oh, brilliant! Lovely constructive criticism...

The lace pattern looks LOVELY and beautifully executed, what's more. A neater leaf lace I have rarely seen.

THE HOLES ARE THERE FOR EXTRA AERATION AND SO TO AVOID THE STINKY DISHCLOTH AS WELL AS BEING PART OF THE WHOLE PATTERN IN THE FIRST PLACE, DON'TCHAKNOW?!

  6. It looks amazing to me.

And the colour is of course perfect.

Have been meaning to tell you for ages that across the road from the little studio house is the prettiest purple cottage. I think of you every time I see it so that would be pretty much daily!

  7. The first thing I thought is that those holes give a lovely lacy look. Lacy is good...

  8. Pshaw, what do they know? Just cos they are supportive and loving and always there for you, taking photos and setting up music and stuff, I'd cut them out of your life forever. This is just not acceptable! Even I knew the holes should be there!

  10. Gorgeous work! They should have been swooning that you mastered such an intricate pattern, instead of worrying about holes that are obviously meant to be there!

  11. It has turned out beautifully.
In my defence, it was only about five lines done when I asked about the holes...
Nor was it prefaced with "look at this LACE knitting I'm doing"...

  13. Beeyootiful! Of course the purple one is yours!

It would need the holes or it would never dry would it?
