Dare

Soozadoo posted a dare yesterday. It's about the way we women hate, criticise, disguise and/or hide ourselves, instead of feeling acceptance and maybe love for our physical selves. So she dared us to show our faces.

In the spirit of being brave I am giving you my morning face. Admittedly I have showered. And admittedly you would only see this angle if you were a basketball player or standing on a chair. Hey. I've given you my red nose, my eyelashes sans mascara, my freckles and my bony chest. But I haven't made peace with the bags under my eyes and there's a good chance I never will.

  2. You frickin ROCK!

You are hardcore. It's the redhead in you isn't it? You outdare the darer. OK, I won't back down! So I'll morning face soon!

You have the most fabulous eyebrows. I'm not doing my morning face until I get mine shaped.

ps I say HAH! to your bags, I outbag your bags any old day.

  3. Yes, definitely hardcore. Truly in the spirit of the dare. And you look fabulous.

Now, what do I do? I have made a conscious decision not to show my face on my blog but I hate to skimp on a dare...

  4. You look about 25. I cannot see your bags as I'm too distracted by those gorgeous green eyes.
I'm with M, don't know whether to take it up or not....

  5. Bags? What bags? All I see is a lovely face.

  6. This is so true!! Like so many pointed out about the anniversary picture I posted yesterday...I never post close-ups of myself. Ever. Don't want to frighten people (myself) away.

Having said that, you look GREAT and exactly how I pictured you. And girl, there are NO BAGS under your eyes. Trust me, I should know. I am very familiar with said bags.

PS: So will I do it? Yes, one of these days. But not this day. I was awoken by a prank call at 2 am, and have been awake ever since. Cannot wait for this day to be OVER, so give me a little time...

  7. There are bags, girls. Trust me. Not as bad as the ones I had when my thyroid was broken and my blood was iron-less, but still there nonetheless. You just can't see them because of the angle I took this photo from. Try it and see!

  8. You of the Gorgeous Green Eyes and Fabbo Eyebrows, you put me to shame! I have posted self-portraits before. But...

  11. But you are lovely, and I am old and haggard and a great big chicken. Plus I've already put my face on for the day. And look here, I showed you all an unflattering photo of myself just last summer! Er, winter, for you! The internets can only take so much.

  12. I've already shown so many unflattering shots of myself on my blog that I'm going to let this dare slide on by....

  13. Stomper! You have to be at least 97.5% Irish---you look like you could have grown up next door to me, and no-one would have batted an eyelash. They would have laughed at you if you told them you were from so far and exotic away. I bet you could go for a visit and they'd take you for a native....of course you'd have to lose the Aussie accent and brush up on your brogue! Let me know when you're planning to go. I'll coach you....

  14. I beat you to it. In the name of looking-for-love. or something. anyway, this could well be a revolution. So I'm going to take up the challenge and post another.
really. Nice to see you all!

  15. Double dare. You nude now.

There is no chance of seeing me in the morning. I dont want to shatter the illusion that Im a hot young thang.

  16. You have great eyebrows. I couldn't see any bags, red nose of freckles...I was way too distracted by your eyebrows.

    I'm conflicted too. A dare's a dare...but I don't do faces. Hmmm, what to do?

  17. M and Fairlie - there must be a way! I, like you, have wanted never to show my face on the blog. Which I am sure others will respect.

However there will be a way and I will think on it over my break.

Once I stop being distracted by Stompers incredible eyebrows and eyes!

  18. Ah, you have beguiling eyes! No evidence of bags, though. Guess I'll have to take your word for it.

  25. I just love your eyebrows! They are wonderful. The rest of your face is lovely too, of course.

  26. I want your eyebrows.

Luminous, green eyes ... are you sure you're not Irish?

Don't see any bags either ... too used to looking at my own suitcases.

    Beautiful.
